For very few redundancies in an #SME #consultation could be quite informal, with less formal meetings, questions raised as they come and an open-door policy. Just be careful you document everything #redundancy #unfairdismissal #HRtip

A #redundancy #consultation can be very short if it’s a straightforward situation involving one or two people, and this is fine as long as it is a genuine exercise #HRtip

Unless you are making 20 or more people redundant there is no set time period for #consultation however it needs to be long enough to allow consideration of proposals and of suggestions made, and to answer queries #redundancy #unfairdismissal #HRtip

Don’t assume employees won’t come up with anything useful during #consultation you may find staff are prepared to save costs through paycuts or unpaid leave #redundancy #unfairdismissal #HRtip
